The 2017 Season Begins on Thursday! 2 openings on 1 night!

The Burr House Artisans shop opens this weekend for the 2017 season.

Regular Winter Store Hours are in effect--
Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 to 4:30.
Tea and scones are served from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at a cost of $5.00 for a pot of tea, two homemade scones, butter, jam(s) and a slice of zucchini or fruit bread.

We are ushering in the new year with two very special gallery shows.

The first is Cache and Carry -  A Hill Potter's Guild Piggybank Challenge.

Guild members were challenged to create piggy or coin banks for this show. All shapes and sizes of banks will be shown and available for purchase.

Come join the potters on opening night: Thursday February 9th, from 6:30 to 8:30pm. 
Light snacks and fluids of some kind will be served.


showing her work for the first time at The Burr House is Stouffville artist Dianne Brown-Green. Her colourful paintings are a welcome addition to the tea room and gallery at the Burr House.

Dianne will be joining us for the evening so come and meet this very gifted painter. We are very fortunate to be showcasing her work.

Catching Up and Looking Ahead: September, October, November 2016


The Burr House Gallery hosted Campbell Sampson and his recycled fire extinguishers/metal works.

 Our current exhibition showcases three studio tour artists. The Burr House is one of the stops on the Richmond Hill Studio Tour. Artists showing their work at Burr House exhibit for the full month.

Printmakers' Potluck 2016 Pt. 1 - The Out-of-Towners

This year's Burr House Gallery print exchange, has been christened the Printmakers' Potluck. You know how when you tell people it's a potluck you never know what you're going to get? Well I think that aptly describes a print exchange like ours.

The criteria was:
  • traditional printmaking method, or predominantly traditional with new techniques added
  • 6 prints, get 5 in return
  • print size not limited, paper size no larger than 8"x10" (20cm x 25cm)
  • prints can be monoprints, or parts of an edition, no specific requirements
  • prints can be made anytime within the last 5 years. Send us those prints that are perfectly good, hanging around the studio or drawer, get them out in the world to be seen and loved

We had 11 participants, with 5 from out of the area.

Printmakers' Potluck - Open Call for Submissions for our 2nd Annual Print Exchange

The call is out for our 2nd annual print exchange. We welcome anyone from anywhere in the world to send us your prints, you know the ones that are in your drawers, your file folders, your portfolios. Get them out into the world so they can be seen!

We are looking for 6 prints, traditional printmaking techniques or a mix of traditional and digital. Paper size no larger than 8X10 or smaller than 4x6. Print size can be anything you like.

Submission deadline is June 4th, 2016 (postmark June 4th is ok).

Setting up-this week. New Gallery Show in the works.

Five members of the Burr House Spinners and Weavers have used poetry as inspiration for a series of new textile works on display in the Burr House Artisans gallery and tea room.

We are busy getting the gallery ready for this exhibit which opens to the public this coming weekend, April 2nd and continues through to May 29th, 2016.

Show hours are regular Burr House hours:
Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 to 4:30 pm.
tea and scones served from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
