The Burr House and Guild Hall, Richmond Hill - April 2015

The Burr House is a historical site in Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada. Built in the 1820's, the Burr House is the oldest building still occupying its original site. Guild Hall and Burr House Guild Hall was later moved to the Burr House site by the Town of Richmond Hill. Both buildings are currently in use. Guild Hall is the Home of the Burr House Spinners and Weavers (upstairs) while the Hill Potters' Guild occupy the downstairs. front door Burr House official heritage plaque The Burr House Gallery and Tearoom is operated by the volunteers of the two guilds. It is a not for profit and exists to promote the work of local artists and artisans and guild members. Roll On Richmond Hill - Guest Printmakers Exhibit on now

Roll On Richmond Hill is a Steamroller Printmaking Event being held in the back parking lot (BTW this means *NO ON-SITE PARKING*) of the Burr House Artisans shop on Saturday August 19th between 10am and 4pm. Three guest artists, plus the event's host, Katie Argyle, have been busy hand-carving a 20" x 30" block of birch plywood for this event. In addition, one steamroller-made print by each artist will be on display and for sale in the Burr House Artisans Shop right after its creation. All the printmakers are showing work in the Burr House right now. Each one of them has printmaking experience, two of them have done steamroller printing before. All artists are based in Richmond Hill. Haleh Delavi and Alexandra Conrad are working together to carve one block. Both are members of the Richmond Hill Group of Artists. Printmakers' Potluck - Open Call for Submissions for our 2nd Annual Print Exchange

The call is out for our 2nd annual print exchange. We welcome anyone from anywhere in the world to send us your prints, you know the ones that are in your drawers, your file folders, your portfolios. Get them out into the world so they can be seen! We are looking for 6 prints, traditional printmaking techniques or a mix of traditional and digital. Paper size no larger than 8X10 or smaller than 4x6. Print size can be anything you like. Submission deadline is June 4th, 2016 (postmark June 4th is ok). Please find the submission forms HERE.
